Moles and pocket gophers were damaging Colleyville’s third-largest park.
McPherson Park spans 27 acres of former dairy farm land and features a historic late-1800s log barn, playground, splash pad, kids’ sports fields, trails, and family pavilions.
The City of Colleyville hired a trusted local business, Gopher Genius, to eliminate the mole and pocket gopher infestation without closing the park.
The Gopher Genius team removed more than 450 pests (approximately 70% pocket gophers and 30% moles) using only mechanical traps and no dangerous chemicals, keeping local wildlife and pets safe.
All work was completed seamlessly around sports events, pets, families, and lawn crews.
The park has been restored to its pre-infestation condition, and local families can once again enjoy its landscape.
This restoration has also allowed the city to safely enhance the park with new trees, without the risk of pocket gophers destroying their roots.
As a trusted local business, the Gopher Genius team appreciated the opportunity to solve this long-standing issue for Colleyville residents.

This 2024 Google Earth image shows approximately 5 acres in the northeast section of McPherson Park in Colleyville, Texas, where we removed over 150 moles and pocket gophers. All the small brown dots are mole or pocket gopher dirt mounds — far too many to count!

This 2026 photo shows the same area after the removal, no longer showing the devastating damage caused by moles and pocket gophers. It was taken from the right pedestrian path, looking toward the left.
